Support Our Mission.

Due to post-pandemic enrollment numbers across the city, higher operating expenses, and the nature of our “start-up” model, we have to “build the bridge while walking across it.” We still must manage a budget that anticipates a 7-figure funding gap this fiscal year, and next. That gap will diminish each year as we grow and eventually, we project a budget that will enable us to exist on public funding.

Until that day, we need your help.

It’s About Equity

Gender and race matter in schooling, not because girls (and girls of color) learn differently. Gender and race matter because of normative social and cultural beliefs that often obstruct the progress of young women, and especially young women of color. These beliefs play a prominent role not just in the classroom, but across entire school systems.

Ability is equally distributed, but opportunity is not.

KC Girls Prep is working to break down barriers. We believe this investment will be seen by future generations as a crucial moment that helped change the narrative in Kansas City.
